Powered parachutes are becoming the fastest growing segment of flying in the world. This is because of the simplicity of flying a powered parachute and the inherent safety created by the design of the vehicle, similar to a pendulum, where all of the weight is below the wing, making it very stable. It is very easy to fly.

After a thorough pre-flight and engine warm-up, face the machine into the breeze, lay the parachute out behind the machine, check to make sure the lines are all free, get seated, buckle up and start the engine.... Once the machine starts moving forward, the chute will kite above the vehicle. Stabilize the chute, check the end cells of the chute to make sure they are full, and then accelerate... The vehicle will reach a speed of about 26 mph and will then lift off the ground and you are flying.... It is thrilling and exciting and you are free in the air like a bird !

We use several fields as our airstrips... all located within 10 minutes of our home.We only charge $50.00 for your initial instructional flight, which can last up to 30 minutes. If you wish to learn more or decide to purchase a machine, we offer more advanced training consisting of videos, classroom instruction on FAA regulations, weather, communications, air space, ground operations, and then additional flying time including dual instruction, ground handling and solo flight.

The best times to fly are just after sunrise and about an hour before sunset...

During the summer, we are able to fly in the evenings during the week as well as on the weekends. Flying powered parachutes is very dependent on the weather and I prefer to fly introductory flights when the breeze is less than 5 mph. For the experienced pilots, they will fly in winds of up to 10-15 mph.

For an instructional ride... just give us a call and we will set up a reservation for your introductory flight... the cost is only $50.00 for a 1/2 hour flight.

Why did I choose powered parachutes ?

I actually started in hot air balloons in 1991 and in 1997 decided that I wanted to try something else in addition to ballooning. I took airplane lessons and ground school, but decided against fixed wing after 20 hours of flying... it was getting too expensive and I did not enjoy the enclosed feeling in the cabin. While flying our balloon one weekend, a powered parachute came and circled us and I knew that was more my speed... slow and low, feeling the breeze in my face... and one month later, we took our first instructional rides.

Compared to other types of flying, powered parachutes are :

much less expensive :

To fly a single place powered parachute, it only requires 6-12 hours of instruction and practice. Why did I choose Six Chuter powered parachutes ?

I was looking for a company who would stand behind their products with technical support , a company that was dealer and customer oriented, a company that would support their promises, a company who offered the highest quality products at competitive pricing, and a company with state of the art design and supplies.

Ellen and I had the opportunity to go to Sun 'N Fun in Florida in April, 1999 and we visited all of the manufacturers of powered parachutes. I found that most of these vehicles had many differences but yet, were very similar and that it was the people who made the difference. I met with many of the manufacturers and made many new friendships. After all of my research, Ellen and I decided to go with the Six Chuter powered parachutes. I was extremely impressed with the new rear suspension on the 2 person SR7xl which uses a shock absorber suspension. I was impressed with the additional clearance underneath the machine.
